The feedback from the scoresheets for WEEK 12 was as follows:
SCORES:
Winners:
8: Featherstone Phoenix, Kippax Legionnaires, Olde Taverners
7: Golden Lion Dudes
Non-winners:
8: The Vic
7: Kippax British Legion, Olde Tavern Allsorts
COMMENTS:
Olde Taverners: Interesting varied rounds, good mix and balance. Shame about the repeated questions.
[A question in round 9 about Picasso’s birthplace was repeated as a spare question.]
The Vic: Good mix of questions.
Golden Lion Dudes: Not too bad.
Featherstone Phoenix: Great mix.
STATISTICS:
The numbers of questions remaining unanswered (by either team) in rounds 1/2/4/7/9/10 were as follows (in the 4 matches, expressed as A-B):
4-4
6-6
7-5
7-6
24-21 (Total)
So the balance was very good, with just the tiniest favouring of ‘B’.
Split by rounds instead of matches, the same unanswered questions break down as:
4-5 (Germany)
1-4 (British TV shows)
10-0 (Shakespeare)
6-2 (Food)
1-5 (A-OK)
2-5 (Chemical elements)
So, although the overall balance was very good, the rounds showed a lot of variation, the Shakespeare round proving particularly hard for ‘A’.
There were three answers not got by anyone in the FTQL (perhaps as a result of Lofthouse Lions not playing!):
Emilia (Iago’s wife in Othello)
Lokma/Loukoumades (Small Greek/Turkish pastries)
Lithuania (Last pagan country in Europe)
