The feedback from the scoresheets for WEEK 10 was as follows:
SCORES:
Winners:
8: Carleton Grangers, Featherstone Phoenix, Flanagan’s Army, Lofthouse Lions, Olde Taverners
7: Kippax Legionnaires
Non-winners:
8: The Vic
7: Golden Lion Dudes, Kippax British Legion, Olde Tavern Allsorts, The Other Team
COMMENTS:
Olde Taverners: Interesting rounds, evenly matched questions.
Olde Tavern Allsorts: Cricket round too easy for a last round!
Featherstone Phoenix (v The Other Team): Good mix of questions, great opponents.
Carleton Grangers (v King’s Arms): Great game. V good spirit + atmosphere.
The Vic (v Lofthouse Lions): Good balance + good night.
Golden Lion Dudes: Deep but good questions.
Flanagan’s Army: A reasonable quiz.
STATISTICS:
The numbers of questions remaining unanswered (by either team) in rounds 1/2/4/7/9/10 were as follows (in the 6 matches, expressed as A-B):
0-2
4-4
4-5
5-6
5-6
8-12
26-35 (Total)
A couple of comments complimented the question balance. The above figures suggest a favouring of ‘A’, but only a very slight one.
Split by rounds instead of matches, the same unanswered questions break down as:
8-9 (Physics)
5-6 (Soap operas)
2-5 (Poems and poets)
3-11 (Mountains)
2-1 (Prime Ministers)
6-3 (Cricket)
Here the slight favouring of ‘A’ is evident in the first three rounds, becomes more prominent in Mountains, but turns round the other way in the last two rounds (Cricket being a little bit easier than average, bearing out a comment above).
One answer was not got by anyone in the FTQL (strangely, it was a B3 question, so in the middle of the round):
Acceleration (what is measured by the Gal, named after Galileo)
Finally, the individual questions were seemingly the easiest all season, with the highest total score, and 46 out of 48 players getting at least one of their pair correct.
